What's a king to God? Part 2: The Mystery of Trump

Shalom, family. In the first essay I shared my personal experience with revelation about God's authority over major world events like elections. Specifically, regarding Trump's re-election. While I still will not assert with 100% confidence whether this was direct intervention and evidence of appointment from our Father in Heaven, I still hold to the truth that He works all things out for His good (Gen 50:20).

Yet I cannot ignore the spiritual significance of this moment in history. Admittedly, I was not privy to the intersection of religious institutionalism and geopolitics during my apostasy (my disbelief in God and Yeshua as the Messiah), but God now has his hands on my life and at a time when a lot of prophetic events seem to be unraveling internationally.

As for America, Trump seems to be this enigma. At first glance it's easy to see Trump as just another self-interested politician playing politics by appealing to his base with rhetoric of Christian Nationalism, but then there's everything else. Events running parallel to Trump's curious career that make this entire spectacle a bit more mysterious.

The assassination attempts, the prophetic pastors that predicted two terms, the prophecy of his assassination attempt that was recorded months in advance, and the reconstructed ark of the covenant sitting in the Mar-a-lago for eight months. But what I think is the most interesting thing of all is this recent letter addressed to President 47 in February from Israel's Sanhedrin (their judicial and legislative body that adheres to Torah). Here is an excerpt from the letter:

"You [Trump] have been elected, as Cyrus was in his time, to fulfill a heavenly mission: To unite all believers in God and foster ethical cooperation across all spheres of human activity"

Pretty grandiose right? I stated in part 1 that while I was in the park reading out the book of Daniel the Holy Spirit was revealing the scriptures wisdom to me. God deposes kings and raises up others (2:21). But what does this have to do with Cyrus the Great you may ask? Well, according to wikipedia the book of Isaiah was written between 740 and 686 BC. In chapter 45 it is written:

I will raise up Cyrus[b] in my righteousness:
I will make all his ways straight.
He will rebuild my city
    and set my exiles free,
but not for a price or reward,
says the Lord Almighty.”

This was during the captivity of the Israelites in Babylon. God states here he will raise up a king named Cyrus who will free the Israelites from Babylonian captivity and subsequently rebuild the city of Judea, but here is where the word of our Lord is often downplayed if not just plainly ignored in historical and academic circles. These verses were written about Cyrus decades (conservatively) if not a century before Cyrus The Great was born. Yes, the actual historical king Cyrus The Great was born circa 600 BC and lead a campaign that spanned into Babylon where he freed the Israelites who then rebuilt Judea and the second temple.

And he did it exactly how scripture prophesied he would. But, why is Trump on a coin with him? That's the mystery and reason why I write this. The current Sanhedrin and state of Israel are looking to rebuild their Temple and--for reasons not entirely known to me--they see Trump as the man that will lead to this reconstruction. Maybe it has to do with Trump signing the Abraham Accords back in 2020.

For the secular eye this may seem like religious fanaticism, but the Bible has confirmed historical events like the example I provided above. And while we can still hold our leaders accountable for their effectiveness in governance, to the Christian I implore you to open your mind to the idea that there may be more at work here than what right and left wing media are narrating. Let us discern these events with prayer for wisdom and insight. For our Almighty God, El Shaddai, to lead us to His truth. In Yeshua our Messiah's name, amen.

Fake News (It's Deeper Than Donald Trump)

Shalom, family. If there is one undeniable thing to credit to the current President of the United States it's his ability to make a headline, be it "good" or "bad". America is hypnotically polarized between idol gazing or hate watching his every move. He is never short of a quotable one-liner or catchphrase that becomes meme-worthy material.  One particular Trump-ism that seemed to stick in this cultural & political climate is "fake news." And while many of us use it ironically, I can't help but acknowledge the timing of this catchphrase as spiritually significant. A hallmark of the current age. What do I mean by that? Well, for you saints who are into eschatology (end-times prophecy) you are probably already aware of the discussions that are being held in practically every religious space at the moment about the last days. I would say with the quickening and escalation of world events and catastrophes that even the secular spaces have tapped i...

    The Call

For the past week I've been considering starting a blog to share bible inspired entries in an attempt to promote God's word and the gospel. The challenge was knowing where and how to start. Should I take the academic approach? Do a personal testimony? Dig into eschatology or prophecy? That's the thing about the bible. It's a multifaceted, multi-genre composition masterpiece with just as many ways to discuss as there are ways to understand. There are truly layers.  I've written other posts but because I am still a fledging when it comes to knowing The Word I did not feel qualified to present my thoughts as any kind of authority on biblical matters (as well as just having paralysis from analysis). I am learning, I am a student. And I am okay with that. Sometimes I need to remind myself that even Yeshua Hamashiach (Jesus Christ) did not start his ministry until after years of learning and travel. So what changed? What was the catalyst that inspired this first official ...
